  1. PullDown v2.30 is a powerful menu system... you are *strongly* urged
  2. to read the full documentation file PULL230.DOC.  But, being realists,
  3. we know that many a user will unzip this package and type the first
  4. executable name they see.  The system WILL 'run' if you do this, but here
  5. is what you need to know (bare bones) to really get going:
  6.  
  7.      1) Modify PULLDWN.BAT to match your setup, and get PULLDWN.BAT in
  8.         your path.  Otherwise, no selections will execute, and you will
  9.         not return to the menu shell on exit from an application called
  10.         up by using PULLDWN.  Unzip or place all files in C:\MENU for
  11.         the default setup.  PullDown will create the needed files for
  12.         proper operation 'on the fly'.
  13.  
  14.      2) .DEF files contian the menu definitions.  Programmers can likely
  15.         comprehend all syntax just by perusing ADVANCED.DEF and AUTOEX.DEF
  16.  
  17.      3) Modify EDITOR.BAT and get it in your path to have the editor options
  18.         function properly.  Save everything in "pure" ASCII only.
  19.  
  20.      4) If you are confused NOW, but want to LOOK at the system anyway,
  21.         go ahead any type PULLDWN1 at the command line.  You will be able
  22.         to get the look & feel of the system, but it won't be fully
  23.         functional until you install and use it properly.  We took great
  24.         care in providing over 45 pages of lucid documentation.... PLEASE
  25.         read it before you call for technical support!

  27.      5) If you want to browse the files, try VFILE.COM - VFILE is a free
  28.         utility permitting you to browse any text file.  It is no LIST,
  29.         but is vastly simplified and very easy to use.
